US Mutual Fund Directory (alphabetical order).

With any investment it is important that investors do their do diligence. Mutual Funds can be researched by searching the EDGAR database at the SEC. It is important to read the prospectus for any investment. 

US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) - This agency is responsible for regulating securities exchanges in the US. The  U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's mission is to protect investors and maintain fair and orderly markets. It also facilitates capital formation. All companies that wish to conduct business on the US exchanges are required to file registration statements, periodic reports and other forms with the SEC. All of this information is free and is searchable in the EDGAR database that can be found on this website. Mutual funds can be researched by searching the EDGAR database. 

Amana Funds  - is a small specialty mutual fund company that is Sharia Compliant. It offers investment products that are consistent with Islamic Banking Principles.

American Century Investments - is a privately held investment company that has been around since 1958. There are a large number of domestic equity and fixed income mutual funds offered by the company. There are a lack of specialty mutual funds such as country specific (i.e. - China or Japan) mutual fund offerings.  

Blackrock - US Mutual Funds - Blackrock is a very large financial company with offices worldwide. They offer a  limited number of mutual funds in the US. They are well known for their iShares ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) brand. 

Charles Schwab - Charles Schwab is one of the largest discount brokerages in the US. Charles Schwab manages over 50 mutual funds all with no load and no transaction fees.  

Fidelity - Mutual fund giant Fidelity offers a large number of mutual funds and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) covering both domestic markets and global markets. 

Franklin Templeton - is a large mutual fund company with operations in over 30 countries around the world. They have over $700 billion assets under management worldwide. They are an investment management company with a variety of different investment management styles. The investor can tailor their mutual fund investments according to the management style they prefer.

Invesco - is a multi-national financial company that has a wide offering of mutual funds. There are funds in most equity and fixed income areas. This company is also owner of the Powershares ETF (Exchange Traded Funds) brand. 

JP Morgan - is one of the largest banks in the US. There are a large variety of Mutual Funds offered by JP Morgan that cover fixed income and equity funds. They do not have as big a break down of specialty funds (such as country specific funds) as some of their competitors but interestingly they do offer some funds that operate similar to hedge funds in that they can be long or short the market. They also have a commodity fund for investors that is a bit different from many of their competitors.

Morgan Stanley -is a US based investment bank. Among some of its investment offerings are mutual funds. They also offer investment accounts that the investor can use to purchase mutual funds from other mutual fund companies. There is a wide assortment of equity and fixed income mutual funds available from Morgan Stanley. 

Putnam Investments -is a large mutual fund company with offerings both for value investors and growth investors. There are mutual funds that cover both domestic and global markets.  

State Farm -is a large company that offers both various types of insurance and mutual funds. They are one of the largest insurance companies in the US.  

T. Rowe Price -is a large investment company that has over $500 Billion in assets under management. They have a large number no-load mutual funds that are very niche oriented. They tend to concentrate on US markets but do offer some international mutual funds.

United States Automobile Association (USAA) - this company is also known by its initials USAA. It serves members of the military and their families as well as retirees and their families who have served in the military. They offer a wide range of products including mutual funds and insurance products. Business with USAA is done over the internet and telephone. 

Vanguard - is a large financial company that offers many mutual funds and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) that enable an investor to have a domestic and global portfolio. There are many fixed income (bond) funds as well as many equity funds. 


Wells Fargo - Advantage Mutual Funds - Wells Fargo is in the top 10 largest banks in the US by assets. There are a large variety of mutual funds offered by Wells Fargo. They have advisors available to help investors select the appropriate Wells Fargo Advantage mutual fund.
