Sedar is the official site for public securities documents and information from public companies and investment funds in Canada. There is a wealth of information here about regulatory filings by companies listed on Canadian stock exchanges. Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are similar in many ways to mutual funds but there are a number of important differences. ETFs trade on the stock exchanges so they can be bought and sold like a stock. ETFs will also usually (but not always) have lower management fees than Mutual Funds. As with all investments, careful analysis of the funds and their expenses should be done before any investment decision is made. Claymore Investments - Claymore provides a wide variety of ETFs that allow the investor to track global indexes or country specific ETFs. There are also commodity based ETFs. This ETF brand is owned by Guggenheim Partners. Ishares - Canada - Ishares is part of the BlackRock Group with ETFs from around the world. There are a wide variety of ETFs from different areas of the world from which an investor can buy or sell like a stock on the Toronto Stock Exchange. It provides a useful investment vehicle to diversify in different countries around the world. Horizon Beta Pro - Leveraged ETFs - Horizon Beta Pro ETFs are different from the majority of providers in that there are some leveraged ETFs (2X) and both Long and Short ETFs. There are also some hedged currency ETFs. These ETFs cover a wide range of market indexes and commodities both Long and Short as well as being leveraged (2X) ETFs. There are also single ETFs that can be used by investors on the commodities and various stock indexes. Special care should be taken when investing in leveraged ETFs such as 2X ETFs. Horizon Alpha Pro - ETFs - Horizon Alphapro ETFs are actively managed managed, which make them closer to traditional mutual funds. More information on how securities are selected for each ETF are on this website. The theory behind these ETFs are that they will be able to produce more "Alpha" (risk adjusted measure of rate of return after fund fees), than regular index ETFs. BMO - Bank of Montreal's ETFs - the Bank of Montreal has quite a number of ETFs that cover both equities and bonds. The ETFs offered are limited to the North American market but can be purchased on the TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange). Vanguard Canada - Vanguard is one of the largest investment management companies in the world. There are over $150 billion dollars in Vanguard ETFs worldwide. RBC Global Asset Management - RBC Global Asset Management offers several fixed income ETFs that are traded on the TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange, Canada). This is a subsidiary of RBC Bank the largest bank in Canada in terms of assets. First Asset - First Asset offers a number of ETFs that replicate various Morningstar equity indexes and DEX Bond indexes. There are some covered call ETFs that are available to investors. These ETFs are available on the TSX. XTF ETF Solutions - this is a First Asset Company. This company has a number of interesting ETFs that range from covered call (option) ETFs to regional ETFs for Canada. The ETFs are traded on the TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange, Canada)
